UW Men Hoops Pregame Primer vs UCLA Bruins (6 PST on ESPN)

The Huskies return to Hec Ed with a three game winning streak in their back pockets. UW now sits tied atop the Pac 12 conference standings with California. Tonight’s game is a chance for Washington to continue it’s hot streak and claim the top spot in conference for their own.

Tonight the Huskies face the UCLA Bruins. The Bruins are just 5-4 in conference play but have won their last two games against Utah and Colorado.

This is the first time that the Huskies and Bruins will meet this season and it should be an interesting matchup. The Bruins have an impressive front court comprised of the Wear twins and Kent, WA’s own Josh Smith.

The Huskies have the size to match with Aziz N’Diaye, Darnell Gant and trhe length and athleticism of Terrence Ross and C.J. Wilcox. This game will be won with guard play. UCLA lacks premier talent in its back court but has serviceable players in Tyler Lamb, Jerime Anderson and Lazeric Jones. If freshman sensation Tony Wroten can continue his stellar play than Washington should come away victorious tonight.

The Huskies rank tenth in the nation with 40.3 rebounds per game and if they can hold their own on the boards against UCLA tonight they should be able to extend their win streak to four games.
