EA Sports, the makers of the Madden football series have announced that they will be holding another tournament this year to determine who the cover athlete will be for their latest installment of the game.

The tournament will consist of 64 players, two from each NFl team. This is the same thing that was done last year that resulted in Peyton Hillis winning the opportunity to be the cover athlete.

EA Sports is announcing which team representatives have been selected each day. Yesterday the choices for the NFC West were announced and are as follows.

NFC West Madden 13 Candidates:

Arizona Cardinals: Larry Fitzgerald and Patrick Peterson

San Francisco 49ers: Patrick Willis and Vernon Davis

Seattle Seahawks: Marshawn Lynch and Earl Thomas

St. Louis Rams: Chris Long and Brandon Lloyd

Earl Thomas sounds like a great choice but it’s hard to imagine that he would be able to beat out his own teammate in Marshawn Lynch. Beast Mode is exactly the type of player that can gain support not only from the fans, but also EA. His Beastquake run is still remembered by people outside of Seattle and should help him gain votes over some of the other NFC West competition.

Who do you guys want to see grace the cover of Madden 13?
