It took the Kansas City Chiefs fans four attempts to break the world record set in Seattle a few months ago against the San Francisco 49ers but it appears that they have in fact done it.

With Chiefs fans getting comfortable calling themselves the NFL’s loudest fans, they should know that Seattle has plans to regain the title.

Chiefs fans reached 137.5 decibels late in the fourth quarter of a win over the Oakland Raiders, breaking the record of 136.6 set by Seahawks fans at CenturyLink Field in September.

Undaunted, Joe Tafoya — a former NFL defensive end now known as The Seahawks‘ Crowd Noise Organizer Guy — wants another crack at the record books. –

Chiefs fans set the record by 0.9 decibels and they can be sure that Seattle’s 12th Man will be ready to top that effort on its Monday Night Football game against the Saints in one week.
