Someone that is a part of the Seattle Mariners traveling party tested positive for COVID-19. The team did not release who that person was.
What was released were the four names that were added to the injury list as a result of the positive test. Relievers Robert Dugger, Will Vest, Drew Steckenrider, and Anthony Misiewicz.
The Mariners are behind the curve when it comes to vaccinated players. Two more MLB teams just reached the 85% of rostered players being vaccinated goal. Seattle is not one of those teams and Manager Scott Servais said that they “are trending in the right direction, but we’ve still got a ways to go.”

With four spots opening up, pitchers Aaron Fletcher, Wyatt Mills, and Yohan Ramirez were recalled from Triple-A Tacoma. Infielder Eric Campbell had his Triple-A Tacoma contract selected as well. These moves now fill the Mariners’ 26-man roster.
