Without going into too much detail, I will reveal the true front runner for the AL ROTY award. As was posted on our fantastic forum, Michael Pineda is in fact the player who, if the season were to end today, win the award. Check out the forum post for details.

Ummm… Excuse me but there is a guy named Michael Pineda who is a rookie and possibly pitching better than any other guy in the entire MLB.
Hosmer: .290 avg, 5 HR, 17 RBI
His 2011 projection from ESPN for the entire season: 14 HR, 49 RBI, 17 BB, 52 K’s.
Nothing special at all. The guy strikes out 4x more than he walks.
Pineda: 6 wins, 2 losses, 2.30 era, and best of all! A meager .196 BAA!!!
His 2011 projection: 18 wins, 6 losses, 215 K’s!!! and only 59 walks.
If voting was today for AL ROY I would bet everything I own that Pineda would crush Hosmer.
