Seahawks 2016 Pro Bowl voting open Seattle Sports Central
With the 2016 Pro Bowl voting now open, how many Seahawks will find themselves playing in Hawaii in January?
Unless the Seattle Seahawks pull off an amazing run to close out the season, the 2016 Pro Bowl will have its first participants representing the Seahawks since 2013. Having taken part in the past two Super Bowl’s, the Seahawks have had better things to do during that time of the year than to play in possibly the least interesting All Star contests of the major American sports leagues.
At 5-5 the playoffs are still very realistic, as long as the fourth quarter defensive meltdowns are behind us. With one of the most difficult schedules behind us, only two of the remaining six games are against opponents with a winning record (Cardinals and Vikings). I’m sure that not many teams would be volunteering to play the Seahawks if they did make it in even if the Seahawks were playing away from CenturyLink Field.
The odds of appearing in a third straight Super Bowl are not quite favorable. We might as well take a few minutes out of our day and cast our votes for which Seahawks we’d like to see in the Pro Bowl.
You can cast your vote for the 2016 Pro Bowl on the Seahawks website. Interestingly, running back Thomas Rawls does not appear on the ballot, yet.
A case can be made for Rawls, along with Russell Wilson, Doug Baldwin, Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor, Michael Bennett, Cliff Avril, Bobby Wagner, K.J. Wright and Steven Hauschka.
The voting will be open until December 15th and the results will be revealed on NFL Network on December 22nd. This years game will return to Aloha Stadium in Hawaii.
Let me know which Seahawks you think are deserving of a roster spot as well as how you think the NFL can make the game more appealing.
