As MLB The Show 13 nears its release date on March 5th, we are seeing more information related to team and player rankings leak out onto the internet. Last week every player that is rated 99 overall was revealed and now we have the full starting lineup and pitching staff rankings available to us as well.

There are a few surprises on the Mariners roster. Kyle Seager most notably, has been given a rating of 73. Seager was the most consistent and productive everyday offensive player in the 2012 Mariners lineup. Dustin Ackley being rated a full eleven points higher seems odd. Two of the three highest rated Mariners are new additions to the team. Kendrys Morales and Mike Morse come in at 85 and 84 overall, respectively.

The pitching staff sees a few more highly ranked players as Felix Hernandez was one of only 17 players rated a 99 overall in the game. Tom Wilhelmsen, the Mariners closer, comes in at a 92.

MLB The Show 13 marks the first time that The Show series has used numerical values displayed as the overall ratings for players. In the past a bar graph was used that led to some confusion and uncertainty as to how two players really compared to one another. It’s nice that SCEA, the developer of The Show to listen to the online community and carry out things that their loyal customers have asked for.

Notable Mariners offensive ratings:

Jesus Montero 85

Kendrys Morales 85

Mike Morse 84

Dustin Ackley 84

Franklin Gutierrez 80

Notable Mariners pitching ratings:

Felix Hernandez 99

Tom Wilhelmsen 92

Erasmo Ramirez 87

Hisashi Iwakuma 85
